A Culture of Excellence
I interned at ETASHA Society during February 2014 as a part of my curriculum at School of Business Management, Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS).
Having no previous work experience with an NGO, I didn’t know what to except. But I was optimistic and excited about my tenure with the organization. Post completion of my project, all I can say is that it was an absolute privilege to be a part of ETASHA.
My project at ETASHA Society was to conduct an Impact Assessment of the organization. The primary objective of the project was to assess the performance of ETASHA with respect to the various stakeholders (trainees, facilitators, recruiters, society etc.)
This project was a profound learning experience for me and I would like to give special thanks to Mr. Ian McBride and Ms. Parul Mehra, who thoroughly guided me and patiently addressed my queries.
Founded in 2006, ETASHA Society provides vocational training with placement as well as employability skills training and career guidance to young people from disadvantaged backgrounds in India. I got the opportunity to interact with the trainees and realized how much more confident they felt about their futures after completing courses with ETASHA. While attending the Alumni meet of ETASHA, I began to understand how the training they had received had helped the trainees to perform well in their jobs. It goes without saying that ETASHA is doing a stupendous work.
In our Business School education, we have always been taught that the “culture” of an organization is its basic essence. It would be a major understatement to say that the organization culture of ETASHA Society is excellent. The best thing about ETASHA is the people.
