ETASHA – Working Experience

I am Ananya Narain and I am doing 2 week internship at the  ETASHA Society.

I first came to know about the society when I attended the Suneet Verma fashion show that was held in support of the ETASHA society. I was overwhelmed by the video presentation of the society and by the confidence of all students of the society who presented themselves at the ramp. Etasha is a not-for-profit organisation that provides career guidance, vocational training and  employment opportunities to the young people from disadvantaged communities.

My interaction with Dr. Meenakshi Nayyar, the founder of the society and  Ian the communications co-ordinator was enough to convince me to join. What amazed me more was the dedication and hardwork everyone in the organisation put to achieve the common desired goal.

Being an B.A Economic (Hons) graduate from Delhi University, my orientation lies mostly towards Development and Strategic management and analysis and this is what I am doing here. As a Volunteer for the organisation I am mainly working on Increasing the society’s reach through facebook, twitter, youtube and the blog. The most important initiation was the cause page on Facebook (http://www.causes.com/causes/489901)  which has worked wonders in just 5 days of its initiation. Further the most interesting has been looking for Funding Organisations and helping in the recruitment process.  Also there has been an exposure towards Database management using new softwares and tools. The work overall has been very interesting and so is the atmosphere. We are made to feel comfortable and all my colleagues are friendly and helpful.

I like working here and am looking forward to work more and learn more as well.

My sincere sphaytmy is with Katie. I have lived in Canada for almost 40 years and have found out that most Insurance Companies are here to take advantage of innocent and honest citizens. Personally, I do not believe in insurance. This to my belief is a fraud. I am talking about life insurance and disability insurance. Katie, be brave. Lord has given you life and he will take care of you.H ave faith in the Lord and you will get through life like a normal person. Insurance companies put a clause in the agreement in such a way that they will try to avoid payments at any cost.
