Creating awareness about the possibility of generating income through self-owned and managed enterprises among house-bound, frequently illiterate/semiliterate women, motivating them to earn without relying on exploitative middle-men, helping them to come together as a group of co-owners to decide on a business for which they have some prior experience, skills, interest or knowledge, training them in basic life skills, and relevant technical skills, and setting up a production or retail enterprise are the stages of implementation of this program.
Exposure visits, confidence building, market awareness, customer handling, quality control, accounting and negotiating are skills that are inculcated though continuous hand holding and mentoring to train the women to become successful owners of sustainable enterprises.
