About the Project
Project Tarakki is an initiative aimed at fostering economic agency among low-income women in Tughlaqabad Village and Extension, South-East Delhi. The project will train women in entrepreneurship, financial, and digital literacy skills and support the establishment of women-led micro-enterprises towards becoming profitable and sustainable.
About the Role
The Project Coordinator will be responsible for the overall field-level implementation of Project Tarakki, including supervision of the Field Officer, monitoring of enterprise setup and performance, and mentoring of entrepreneurs. The role requires close coordination with the Program Head, community members, and government stakeholders to ensure the project achieves its planned outputs and outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Mobilization and Stakeholder Relationship Management – Lead community mobilization, orientation sessions, and awareness campaigns to build trust and generate interest among target beneficiaries. Maintain strong working relationships with local community leaders, government departments, and other stakeholders to enable smooth project implementation and scheme linkages.
- Training and Mentoring of Entrepreneurs – Coordinate and help deliver entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and digital literacy training, while directly mentoring and guiding entrepreneurs. Identify and mentor high-performing entrepreneurs who go on to lead and support peer groups.
- Developing Market Linkages for the Enterprises – Guide entrepreneurs through business plan development, procurement of raw material/machinery, and enterprise launch, helping them stabilize operations. Support the development of market linkages and facilitate joint procurement and bulk marketing opportunities through peer groups.
- Revenue & Data Collection and Management – Oversee accurate and timely data recording on enterprise performance, revenue, and beneficiary progress using digital tools and enterprise progress trackers. Ensure Field Officer and Sahayikas maintain consistent data collection standards across all enterprises.
- Reporting – Contribute to baseline, midline, and end-line assessments as part of the project’s M&E framework, ensuring data integrity and timeliness. Provide accurate inputs for quarterly donor reports and internal learning documentation to demonstrate progress against project outputs and outcomes.
- Organising Launch Events and Documentation – Plan and organize public launch events to celebrate enterprise milestones and build community visibility and pride for women entrepreneurs. Ensure proper documentation of these events and ongoing project activities, including photographs, records, and success stories for reporting and communication purposes.
Skills & Requirements
- Graduate in any discipline (preference for backgrounds in social work, business/management, or a related field).
- Having around 3-4 years of relevant experience in community-based projects, implementation, livelihoods, or entrepreneurship development programs. Prior experience in field supervision, team mentoring, or training delivery preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport within low-income urban communities.
- Basic financial literacy and comfort with tracking budgets, revenue data, and enterprise performance metrics.
- Proficiency in using digital tools for data recording and reporting (spreadsheets, mobile data collection apps, etc.).
- Ability to work independently in the field while coordinating closely with the central team.
- Sensitivity to gender issues and commitment to women’s economic empowerment.
- Willingness to travel extensively within Tughlaqabad Village and Extension and Delhi NCR.
Remuneration range is Rs.35, 000 – Rs. 40,000 (CTC) per month, depending upon skills and experience. It will include PF, ESI and other benefits as per rules.
