At ETASHA, we believe that every young person has the potential to achieve their dreams and lead a fulfilling life. Our mission is an India where every adult is skilled for income generation to lead a life of self-respect and dignity.

As part of our commitment to empowering young people, we offer a range of vocational training programs to equip them with the knowledge and skills needed for a job to succeed in the workforce. Our trainees are skilled and disciplined to take up entry-level roles in sales and marketing, engineering and manufacturing, IT, customer service, operations and logistics, and human resources. We have been able to inculcate strong traits of punctuality, dedication, communication & responsibility which form the backbone of the “ETASHA way of working.”

We are constantly looking for opportunities to collaborate with organizations and businesses that share our vision of empowering young people. By hiring our trainees, you are not only providing them with valuable work experience, but also contributing to the growth and development of the community.

Dr. Meenakshi Nayar

Founder President

An FPM in Organisational Behaviour (equivalent to a Ph. D) from IIM Ahmedabad and a Masters in Industrial Psychology, Dr Meenakshi Nayar is the Founder and President of ETASHA. 

After working in the corporate world for over 2 decades (last assignment as Executive Vice President HR, DCM Ltd.) Meenakshi founded ETASHA while working with adolescents as Founder Director of EduServe consultants which specialises in career guidance and life skills development.

Vice President

Dr. Freda Swaminathan is a marketing and advertising professional, with senior industry experience in leading advertising agencies and marketing organizations.

Her academic interests are in the areas of marketing, brand management, integrated marketing, communications, and creativity & innovation in marketing, where she has conducted training programs.

She has presented a number of papers on these subjects at National and International conferences. Freda has also had several years of administrative experience in academics, in the areas of Placement, MDP, and Alumni.

Mini Bhargava

Qualified Interior Designer, Mini worked as a designer for a year, then left the job and continued to freelance after marriage.

After her first born, Mini was a homemaker till she connected with ETASHA in 2006. Since then she has been responsible for various works related to VTP.

She headed placements for many years in ETASHA and now she manages the volunteering engagement, MIS, and collaborations.

Sangeeta completed her GNIIT from NIIT whilst simultaneously studying for a BCom.

Completing both in 2009 she joined a CA program at ICAI from where she was articled to Ahuja and Ahuja Chartered Accountants.

A self-employed professional, Ritu is a Founder-Member of ETASHA.

Committed to the society’s cause, she is involved in everything from fundraising and strategy to content development and is a very hands-on governing council member helping steer the organisation in its desired direction.

A self-employed professional, Anita’s core expertise is in the domain of market research where she takes on assignments on a consultancy basis.

Also, a career guidance specialist and she has worked with EduServe Consultants on career guidance projects in schools as well as the sexuality & adolescence education project of the Ministry of HRD in the Kendriya Vidyalayas.

A practicing chartered accountant in the field of auditing, direct taxes, FEMA, and service tax, Pramod has a track record of over 3 decades of professional work at Jaipur and Delhi.

He has been involved with ETASHA since its inception.

A management consultant for over thirty years, Dr. Usha has worked on a host of development issues to bring about sustainable change.

Her major interest and concern are to strengthen people’s organisations and enable them to represent themselves at all levels from grassroots to global.

Usha has an FPM and PGDBM from IIM Ahmedabad.

Dr Cherian Joseph is an Organisational Sociologist specialising in Organizational and Institutional development and core elements of HR practise. He began his career in the late seventies with a long spell as a Faculty at the V.V.Giri National Labour Institute, Delhi / Noida, (GOI). At the Institute he participated in national level dialogue on industrial relations policy and labour administration and experimented with participatory training methodologies to promote enhanced internalisation of learning and behavioural change. Subsequently he moved on to independent consulting. His consulting work has covered organisations from the government and corporate sectors, multilateral agencies, INGO’s and national NGO’s. 

From 1995 he evolved from conducting training events to designing training interventions to trigger and steer change processes. He participated in numerous programme and institutional evaluations in the social sector, including for GTZ/GIZ and SDC (the development cooperation wings of the Governments of Germany and Switzerland). Through the late 90’s and the subsequent decade he supported several medium to small NGOs to initiate and implement changes in routine HR management, in performance assessment practices, in shaping team processes, and to orient organizations to design people centred processes in programmatic approaches. He also served in the late 2000’s on Task Forces set up by the Government of Sikkim with the Indo Swiss Project Sikkim to identify and implement changes for more effective community participation in local government through the Block Administrative centres of Sikkim. During this period, he also led change interventions in some large corporates in their manufacturing units. (Philips India, Osram, Ester Industries, etc.). 

From 2013 to 2019, Dr. Joseph was Advisor Learning and Institutional development for LOGIN Asia, a knowledge and learning network on decentralization and local government, promoted and supported by the Swiss Development Cooperation. This multi-stakeholder, multi-country network on decentralisation and local government covered twelve South and East Asian countries. In late he 2018 was Team Leader for a Mid Term Review of UNDP Mongolia for its project on “Strengthening Representative Bodies in Mongolia.”

Dr. Cherian Joseph holds a Ph.D. and Postgraduate Degree in Sociology from the Delhi School of Economics, Delhi University.

Vandana has an experience of over 28 years in the private sector, development sector, and PPPs. She has worked with the World Bank, National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), Standard Chartered Bank, Infrastructure Devt. Finance Company (IDFC) and The Energy & Resources Institute (TERI). She has expertise in varied fields owing to her vast experience working in education, banking, and the development sector.

Vandana is agile and has an innovation-driven mindset with a proven ability to adapt to diverse professional contexts. She also has expertise in motivating teams to deliver high-quality outputs, with a focus on enabling and empowering teams.

Mr Vijay Toley is the Executive Director of Tex Corp Pvt. Ltd. An IIM A alumnus he has also done a course in Packaging Technology and won National awards in Innovative Packaging.

After 13 years of working in different functional areas in large industries, he along with 2 friends set up Tex Zipper, a Zipper manufacturing company. He is an active supporter and is on the boards of many NGOs and continues to support them in many ways.

Dr. Meenakshi Nayar, a cross-over from the Corporate to the Development Sector, founded ETASHA Society in January 2006 to connect youth from low-resource settings and backgrounds with the growing organised industry.

Meenakshi’s deep-seated belief in human potential, honed through education and experience in training and people- management, has fuelled her passion for skilling and helped create ETASHA as an impact-oriented organisation with many outcome-oriented programs.

Colonel Sanjay Gangwar has rich & varied experience in the development sector from supporting to implementing projects as well as being part of a Skill Development University.

A well-rounded perspective and outlook on the complexities involved make him a quick and effective decision-maker, who is quick to implement new ideas and keeps the team motivated to take on new challenges.

An Accounts and finance professional with a strong academic background – law (LLB), B.Com, and CA (Inter) with over 14 years of experience in the NGO sector, Sangeeta has developed a deep understanding of financial management, budgeting, and compliance within the unique context of non-profit organizations.

Throughout her career, Sangeeta has worked exclusively in the NGO sector, dedicating her expertise to organizations striving to make a positive impact on society.

As ETASHA’s Accounts Manager, Sangeeta has been responsible for overseeing financial operations, managing budgets, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing financial analysis and reporting to stakeholders

Anindita Kar Gupta

Anindita started her journey as a teacher and has lived many roles- a leader, mentor, counsellor, and friend while working closely with youth, women, and adolescents for many years, Anindita, an empathetic listener, is currently looking after ETASHA’s newest vertical titled ‘Adolescent Wellbeing and Success’ as the Chief Project Officer.
